Solomon -- Eugene R. "Crackerbox" Billinger, 66, Solomon, died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, at the Salina Regional Health Center. Mr. Billinger was born Oct. 15, 1932, at Morland and was a longtime resident of Solomon.

He was an Army veteran, a truck driver for Gary Johnson Trucking for 29 years and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Solomon.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; three sons, Richard of Bennington, Randall of Wellsville and Robert of Manhattan; a daughter, DeLynne Whitehair of Abilene; a brother, Edwin of Garden City; three sisters, Helen Bollig of Aurora, Colo., Lorinda Wilvers of Kimberling City, Mo., and Albina Ingermanson of Salina; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Revs. John Lahey and John Wolesky officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Solomon. A parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home, 208 W. Fourth, Solomon 67480.

Memorials may be made to Solomon First Responders or the charity of the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home. Visitation will be until the time of service at the funeral home.
