Funeral service for Myrtle Olene Mullican Chenault, age 85, of Decatur will be today, May 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dallas Culver, the Rev. Patrick Cooley and family friend, the Rev. Grady Guntharp officiating. The family received friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Chenault, who died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital, was born January 9, 1928, in Morgan County to William Jasper Mullican and Ola Beatrice Rose Mullican. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ola Mullican; one brother, Billy Ray Mullican; and three sisters, Evelyn Louise Tidwell, Annie Ozella Woodall and Maureen Roberts. A faithful church member all her life, Myrtle was devoted to her family and remembered for her upholstery shop.

She is survived by her loving husband, Chester Chenault; three sons, Jeff Lynn Chenault (Cecilia) of Trinity, Jerry Chenault (Michelle) of Moulton and Rev. Jimmy Lee Chenault (Sylvia) of Trinity; one daughter, Jennifer Chenault Wright (Sonny) of Decatur; two brothers, John Thomas Mullican (Ann) and Jack Mullican (Faye), both of Decatur; one sister, Inez Pace of Trinity; nine grandchildren, Will Wright, Rebecca Gressman, Chase Chenault, Calee-Lyn Chenault, Kristi Chenault, Jay Chenault, Alli-Bess Chenault, Teri Chenault and Carla Chenault; three great-grandchildren, Nira Wright, Travis Chenault and Pyper Adams; and four stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews, David Woodall, Larry Woodall, Marque Pace, Michael Pace, Tommy Mullican, Kevin Mullican, Mike Chenault and Kirk Mullican.
