U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Lawrence University Wisconsin, in 1909, moved to Beach, North Dakota, in 1909, then engaged as a civil engineer and in agricultural pursuits, (1909-15). In addition, he was Postmaster of Beach, (1909-15) and a pioneer in the rendition as a cartoonist for newspapers articles (1909-17). In 1917, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-fifth Congress by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative Henry T. Helgesen and reelected to the next succeeding Congress, serving until 1921. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed his career as a successful cartoonist and journalist for the newspaper of the National Railroad Union until his death at age 83.
