Edward Brabender was the son of Jacob Ambrosa Brabender and Sarah Stough. He was a shoemaker in Philadelphia who fought in the Civil War. He was shot in the ankle in the Battle of Fair Oakes in Virginia and was disabled from that point on. His first wife was Emmeline Brabender, his first cousin. He was my great-great-grandfather.
