He is best remembered for his book "Il Gatopardo," adapted to the cinema for Luchino Visconti, and played by Burt Lancaster. He also wrote "I Racconti" and "La Letteratura Inglesa." Originally interred in Palermo's Cimiteri dei Cappuccini, in 2024, his remains were transported to the church of Saint Dominic in his native Palermo.
