Ralph W. Clark, 77, of 117 North Morris Street, Waynesburg, died at 11:40 a.m. Sunday, August 11, 1974 of a heart attack. Death was unexpected, although he had not been in the best of health for the past few years.
Born March 21, 1897 in Franklin Township, he was the son of Jesse L. Clark and Alice Gooden Clark, and was married June 12, 1923, to the former Mary Fox, who survives.
Mr. Clark attended Waynesburg College and was a school teacher in area schools for several years. He worked for many years as an automobile mechanic at Waynesburg's Greene Street Garage, and has worked since his retirement at the Samuel P. Weaver Funeral Home, Waynesburg.
A veteran of World War I, he was stationed in England. He is a member of James Farrell Post 330, American Legion, and also of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post at Waynesburg.
Mr. Clark was a member of the Pursley Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a sister, Mrs. Norma Calloway of South Boston, Va.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Janet L. Clark of Waynesburg; a nephew, Ralph Lee Clark of Waynesburg R. D. 4; and a number of cousins, including Florance Husk and Clark Maple.
A brother, Shirl H. Clark, is deceased.
