A Bradley commander, he had been in the Army for eight years; was serving his second tour of duty in Iraq; and was planning a military career.
On Jan. 4, 2003, after climbing 125 feet to the top of a rock in the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colo., he married Riley Morrison of Casper. They shared a love of climbing.
Shortly after their marriage, he was deployed on his first tour to Iraq. When he returned to the states, he and his wife renewed their wedding vows on July 24, 2004.
A devoted and loving husband and father, he loved listening to good music and playing drums; working on his Corvette and proudly driving it around; and making others laugh.
Survivors include his wife of Casper; his son, Justin David, 4, of Louisiana; parents, Tino J. Vasquez and Vicki Bosley and her husband, Kevin, and two sisters, Jennifer and Janneke Vasquez, all of Manzanola; a nephew; his in-laws of Casper; grandparents, Pete and Tula Vasquez of Manzanola, Virginia Entley-Moore of Tahleyvah, Okla., and Jack and Linda Todd of Canon City, Colo.; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two uncles.
