Murray, David Joseph "Ted" A sheriff's deputy with the East Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office and a sergeant with the Louisiana National Guard, he died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005, in Baghdad, Iraq. He was 23, a resident of Clinton and a native of Philadelphia. Visiting at Christian Bible Fellowship Church, 9414 La. 67, Clinton, on Friday, June 17, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, June 18, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Robert E. Townsend. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Joanne Spence and John Parker of Clinton; father, Gary Murray Sr. of Philadelphia; sister, Caitlin Marie Parker of Clinton; two brothers, Gary Michael Murray and Coley Patrick Parker, both of Clinton; and grandmother, Patricia Lepera of Jeffersonville, Pa. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marian and Joseph Spence, Gerald Parker, and Dorothy and Thomas Murray. Honorary pallbearers are Scotty Henderson, Matthew Hedgewood, Duffie Herrod, Jack Stubbs, Reab Simoneaux, Brad Barnum and the late Jake Suggs. He was a 2001 graduate of Silliman Institute, Clinton, and a member of Bravo Company 1088th Engineer Battalion, 256th Infantry Brigade, Louisiana National Guard. Physical fitness was his passion. Memorial donations may be made to the Clear Creek Methodist Church Building Fund, 17452 La. 432, Clinton, LA 70722. Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Clinton, is in charge of arrangements.
