Lowrie McClurg
Lowrie McClurg, a nephew of the late General Alexander C. McClurg, and a member of the firm of A. C. McClurg & Company, stationers and publishers, Chicago, died last week at his home, 1089 Spruce street, Winnetka, after a brief illness. Mr. McClurg was born in Allegheny, Pa., and obtained his early education in the public schools of that city. Later he attended the Allegheny College at Meadville, and was graduated with the class of 1879. He came to Chicago the same year and entered the employment of A. C. McClurg and Company as a salesman. Mr. McClurg worked in the different departments and several years ago became a member of the firm. Mr. McClurg was a charter member of the University Club of Chicago. He is survived by his widow.
