Elizabeth Morrison Hamilton was born in Mauch Chunk (now Jim Thorpe) PA, the second child and only daughter of Thomas Morrison & Catherine Leslie Morrison, who were immigrants to this country from Ireland. She married William Hamilton and had 2 children, but was widowed when only 28 and remained widowed till she died. Her daughter died only 13 mos after her husband and she raised her son William on her own. Her son was a graduate of Jefferson Medical College and practiced his whole life in Philadelphia.
