He was survived by his wife, Pearl E. (Atkinson); son, Dean E. (Judith) of Heath, OH; daughter Donna Rae (Arthur) Verhey of Staten Island, NY; and two grandchildren Dean E. Jr. and Elizabeth Ann of Heath OH.
He was predeceased by a brother.
