Catholic Archbishop. Born in Berlin, Germany, he was an educated law student and was ordained a Priest of Koln, Germany, in 1959. Appointed by Pope John Paul II Titular Archbishop in 1979, he was an apostolic delegate for Guinea and Sierra Leone. After his diplomatic service, he was ordained Archbishop of Fulda, Germany, in 1983. While in position, he served as Military Bishop of Ordinariate and was awarded the Great Cross of Merit, form the Federal Republic of Germany, in 1994. He died while in office of cardiac arrest at age 70 in Fulda, Germany.
