Graveside services for Sam Burleson, 99, were held Friday, July 12, 2013 at Burleson Duhon Cemetery in Lake Charles, LA. Officiating was the Rev. Doug Cain.

Sam was born on June 25, 1914 in Sulphur, LA and passed away on July 7, 2013 in Shreveport. He was a retired supervisor for the U.S Postal Service. He attended Centenary College and played on the football team. He loved planning family reunions and events. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Edolie Burleson and wife, Ruth Marie Burleson; daughters; Melanie Burleson Gibson Hornsby, Brenda Burleson Johansson, Angelique Marie Burleson; son-in-law; Henry Allen King, grandchildren; Bobby Joe Johansson, Stephanie Angelique Gibson.

Left to cherish his memory is his son; two daughters abd one son-in-law; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one sister of Leesville.
