Milton was the third of five children born to Russell Owen 'R.O.' and Elizabeth Ann (Harper) Bean. He married Henrietta Elizabeth Sprague in 1883 and they had twelve children: Mary Ida, Emma Survinia, Elizabeth Russell, Mark Owens, Rosa Belle, Henrietta Maude, Grace Leora, Milton Henry, Ellis Jordan, Andrew Jackson, Roberta Eunice and Farmer Floyd.

RANCHER OF CENTENNIAL IS CLAIMED
Milton Bean Dies at Barrett Hospital
after Brief Illness

Milton Bean, 82, pioneer rancher of the Centennial valley, died yesterday morning at Barrett hospital, where he had been a patient for the past week.
He was engaged in ranching in the Centennial for 57 years, until two years ago when he retired to come to Dillon and make his home with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.L. McDowell.
Mr. Bean was born in Gonzales, Texas, March 4, 1861, and came to Beaverhead county in 1886, locating on a homestead in the Centennial. He later acquired a ranch property on Clover creek in the valley, selling it to Emerson Hughes when he retired two years ago. His wife Henrietta passed away in 1935.
For many years, he and his family conducted a dance orchestra which furnished music for social entertainments over a wide territory.
Surviving him are five daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Torpe of Idaho Falls, Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Noyes of Chinook, Mr. and Mrs. James McBride of Lima, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Judy of the Centennial and Mr. and Mrs. McDowell of Dillon; three sons and daughters-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. Milton H. Bean of the Centennial, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bean of Salmon, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Farmer H. Bean of Anaconda; 23 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock from the Brundage chapel, with the Rev. J. A. Meek of Grace Methodist church officiating. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery in the Centennial valley.
