Indian Mutiny Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Dublin, Ireland, he served as a Private in 53rd Regiment of Foot, British Army. During the assault on the Secundra Bagh, at Lucknow, on the November 16, 1857, Private Kenny volunteered to assist in the lead relief column. Under a very severe enemy cross fire, he continued to bring up ammunition to his Company's position. For gallantry in the face of the enemy, he was awarded the Victoria Cross in December 1858. He was later killed in actions at Mooltan British, India.
