JAMES A NOBLE
James was the son of John and Julia Noble. He was born in Pennsylvania and migrated to Mercer County in the 1840's where he became a very prominent merchant in Keithsburg for many years.
On March 26, 1849 he married Harriet Frick, daughter of Frederick and Nancy Frick.

To this union was born; Alice F., Kate Agnes, Ida Juanita, Hattie Nora, James L, Mary Adella, & Harry Fredy.
Ida was the only daughter to marry. She married Cyrus Jacob Orth. Alice & Harry both died at a young age and James married Lollie B. Eddington. All are buried in the Greenmound cemetery.
James is buried in a family plot along with his wife and children; Alice, Kate, Hattie, Mary & Harry.
