Beverly Ione Kohrs age 84 of Lake City passed away July 9, 2013 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.

Beverly was born March 7, 1929, daughter of Ernest and Norma (Rosvall) Olson, in Lake City, Minnesota. She was baptized at the Lake City Hospital in June of 1929 and was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lake City in 1949. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lake City. In her younger years, she worked at Diacro and Sears. Beverly married Mert Kohrs on May 20, 1950 in Lake City. While Mert was in the Air Force, they were stationed in Great Falls, Montana and England. After his discharge, they moved to Pine Island where they raised their family. While in Pine Island, Bev worked for Pine Plating and Land O' Lakes. After retirement, the couple traveled to Arizona and returned to Lake City upon their permanent retirement. Bev was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City and the American Legion Post 110 of Lake City.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Merlyn Kohrs; children, Dan (Pam) Kohrs of Rochester, and Vicky (Rollie) Stussy of Rochester; grandchildren, Erik (Therese) Stussy of Minneapolis, Josh (Laura) Stussy of Winona, and Nicole (Brandon) Hanf of Rochester; great grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Hanf, Liam and Quinn Stussy, whom she absolutely adored; brother, Donald (Joan) Olson of Rosemount; sisters, June (Iver) Eggenberger of Lake City, and Carmen Weisz of Red Wing. She was also blessed with many nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jean (Kenneth) Wohlers, and Elizabeth (Ernie) Mattson; and brother, Bruce Olson

A Memorial Service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Lake City, with Reverend Lowell Sorenson and Dale Kohrs officiating. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Anderson – Peterson Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
