Bud was the son of Harvey Carman and Margaret Ellen Sharp. He was the brother of Allen Blue, William L, John, Twins Joshua and Caleb, Priscilla Wallace, and Sarah Elizabeth Carman. He married Ida Mae Reese on August 31, 1895. He was the father of Henry Franklin, Mary Ellen, Bertha Mae, and Harold Algeron Carman.

Bud was a farmer, lived on the Heard Ranch, Southeast of Princeton. In addition to being a farmer, he also owned one of the cotton gins in Princeton. He was a wonderful person, devoted family man. He served as chairman for the deasons of the Princeton Baptist Church. Cause of death: heart attack
