Leonard Pivoni was born February 7, 1921 and raised in Pe Ell, Washington.

He attended and graduated from Pe Ell High School in 1939. He attended Washington State University, Pullman for a time. With the outbreak of World War Two he joined the Navy to serve his country. At the end of the war he found employment with the Santa Fe Railroad in Los Angeles, California retiring after thirty years employment as a ware-houseman.

He found Idlewilde, California in the San Bernadino Mountains to his liking where he could enjoy his hobbies of fishing, hiking, and traveling until his death on February 28, 2005.

His parents Valentina Katasiewicz and Michael Pivoni preceded him in death. He is survived by a sister Celia Del Bianco, a nephew Michael Strobl and three nieces Gretchen Pivoni, Jeanette Fifield and Kate Missal.(Also Jean Marshall of Bend, Oregon)

A Graveside service will be held one p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2005 at Greenwood Memorial park, Centralia.
