Robert J. Phillips, Sr., 77, of Carmichaels R.D.1. died Wednesday, June 3, 1987, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.

He was born April 9, 1910, in Cumberland Township, son of James N. and Anna Crago Phillips.

He was a 1929 graduate of Carmichaels High School. He worked as a dog law officer for the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for many years.

He resided for 54 years in Khedive. He was a former member of Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church. He attended Jefferson Nazarene Church.

He was a charter member of the Greene County Coon Hunters Club. He also was associated for many years with Greene County fast-pitch softball teams.

His wife, Rosa Fox Phillips, whom he married March 31, 1933, survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ross (Hazel) Garrison Jr. of Valley Grove, W.Va., Mrs. Duane (Charlotte) Makel and Mrs. Joseph (Bertha) Ludrosky, both of Rices Landing; two sons, Richard Phillips of Springfield, Va., and Robert J. Phillips Jr. of Carmichaels R.D.1; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother Nathan Phillips of Carmichaels R.D.1.

Deceased are three sisters, Alice McCann, Annabelle Phillips and May Phillips; and four brothers, Albert, Wayne, Fred and Joe Phillips.
