All of the people I have met who knew him said he was a good man and so was his word. He doted over his children and the rest of his extended family. My grandfather told me he could not have had a better father-in-law. My father told me Frank gave me a fishing pole when I was only about a year old because he was happy to have a great-grandson. I am currently trying to trace Grandpa Hathaway's genealogy. He married Adah Maud Brundage (she is also memorialized at findagrave.com) and they had three daughters:
Dorothy Carabelle (my grandmother), Frances, and Hellen. To earn his living and support his family he was a blacksmith and machinist. He was also a Master Mason in the Chanute Lodge.
