21 Oct 1918: Alfred Gerberich, a prominent East Hanover Township farmer, died Saturday night from pnuemonia after a week's illness, aged about 42 years. He was a son of Valentine Gerberich and leaves a wife and six children, five girls and one boy. He was one of a family of ten children, one who was a Valentine Gerberich of this city. His death occured at the Hospital where he had been brought from his home a mile north of Grantville. He was a member of the Lutheran church. [Lebanon Daily News]
