Mrs. Sarah L. Conant, 82, widow of Charles L. Conant, died yesterday at her home, 55 Central Street. A native of Amherst, she came to this city in 1875 to teach the ninth grade in the old Chestnut Street High School. She was married to Mr. Conant, a former president of The Gardner Saving bank, June 27, 1877 (at Amherst, Massachusetts). He died 25 years ago. She was a prominent in the work of the Congregational church and was a charter member of the Gardner Woman’s Club. She leaves a foster daughter, two nephews and a niece. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. REV Baldwin W. Callahan will officiate. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Cemetery
