Mrs. Georgia A. West, 87, of 508 Jackson street, died Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at her home, following an illness of three weeks.
She was born in Oshkosh on April 23, 1873, daughter of Gen. Thomas S. and Nathalia Allen, and was married in September 1896 to Julian W. West, who preceded her in death. Her father was a general in the Civil War and a member of the firm of Allen & Hicks, early publishers of the Oshkosh Daily Northwestern.
Mrs. Allen was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, member and past regent of Daughters of American Revolution, Clio Class, assisted in organizing Oshkosh Patriotic Council and was a member of Ladies of Grand Army of the Republic.
Surviving are one brother, Edward W. Allen, Seattle, WA; nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were one son, William, three brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Seefeld Funeral Home, with the Very Rev. William J. Spicer, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
