Henry Berkenpas, 92, a retired rural Le mars grain and livestock farmer, died Saturday at the Plymouth county home after an illness of two months. He had lived at the home 14 months.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Seney United Methodist church with Rev. Milo Morris officiating. Burial will be in the Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Monday night at 8 p.m.

He was born Sept. 26, 1877, in Holland, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sipka Berkenpas. He came to the United States and Le Mars at the age of 8. He lived in Le Mars until 1914 when he moved to Bemis S.D., returning to Le Mars vicinity in 1926. He married Anna Tamminga Feb. 12, 1902, at rural Le Mars. He was a member of the Seney United Methodist church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two sons, a daughter and a sister.

Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Gertrude) Zoerink, Le Mars and Mrs. William (Esther) Faber of Orange City; six sons, Richard of Sioux Center, Harold of Sioux City and Leonard, Gilbert, Donald and Darrell, all of Le Mars; two half-brothers, two half-sisters; 2 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
