Sgt. Joseph D. Hunt of Sweetwater, Tenn., was a "country boy" whose biggest joys in life were his two young sons. And the No. 1 thing on his mind was to be a great father. In his service to military, he was proud of what he was doing, he felt like he was accomplishing something. He was killed in Samarra, Iraq, when they were conducting patrol operations and an improvised explosive device detonated near their HMMWV. He is survived by his sons, Caleb and Joshua, sisters Leslie and Kristen; his parents, Timothy and Marsha; grandparents Ruben and Joyce Hunt, Bernie and Suella Cantrell and Lavada Evans. He was killed in Samarra, Iraq, while conducting patrol operations and an improvised explosive device detonated near his HMMWV at age 27.
