Funeral services were held April 7 for Ethel Francis, 71, of Augusta, at the Augusta Community Church. Burial followed at the Highland Cemetery, Glasgow.

She died April 5 at the Teton Medical Center, Choteau.

She was born June 10, 1911, at Pierre, S.D., to Alva and Delace Johnston. She moved to Lancaster, Minn., with her parents when she was young and later to Montana where they settled near Glasgow.

She married Charles Jack Francis on June 10, 1932, at Glasgow. They moved to Augusta in 1972.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Jack Francis, Augusta; two sons: Charles Francis, Belgrade, and Jack Francis, Belgrade; two brothers: Clarence Johnston, Bridgeport, Wash., and Harold Johnston, Puyallup, Wash.; seven sisters: Cora Sjostrand, Clovis, Calif., Ruby Goth, Las Vegas, Nev., Elva Wood, Glasgow, Dorothy DeGoleir, Bellingham, Wash., Eleanor Skogstad, Bellingham, Wash., Sue White, Laurel, and Hazel Munger, Livingston; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
