Sir David Frost
Birth: Apr. 7, 1939
Ashford Borough
Kent, England
Death: Aug. 31, 2013, At Sea

Journalist. He made a name for himself internationally in 1977, when he conducted a series of in-depth interviews with former American President Richard Nixon. This was the inspiration for the 2008 Academy Award nominated film "Frost/Nixon". Born David Paradine Frost, his father was a Methodist minister, David was in the process of following the elder Frost's path to a career in religion, when he changed his direction and attained an English degree from Cambridge University. It would be while he was attending college, when he initiated his association as a writer, beginning with the school newspaper. His break in British television came as a regular member of the satirically-themed series "That Was the Week That Was" (1962 to 1963) and he would go onto host several interview-formatted programs, notably "The David Frost Show" which ran from 1969 until 1972, in addition to the long-running series "Breakfast with Frost" (1993 to 2005). "The Frost Report" (1966 to 1967), all thought short-lived played a significant role in launching the careers Monty Python members Graham Chapman, John Cleese and Eric Idle. He was formerly married to actress Lynne Frederick. Frost died from an apparent heart attack while aboard a cruise ship. (bio by: C.S.)
