“Mrs. Mary Louise Denver Lindley, aged 69, of New York City, died February 27,1942, at her home, after a year’s illness. She was a former resident of Lakewood, and was the widow of Col. Charles N Lindley, a corporation lawyer. Born in Wilmington, Ohio, the daughter of Gen. James W Denver, she was active in American Red Cross and the Ohio Society, and was a member of the Barnard Club. Her father saw service in both the Civil and Mexican Wars, and at one time was governor of Kansas.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Louise Lindley, a son, Denver Lindley; a grandson, Denver Lindley, Jr., and a brother, former Representative Matthew R Denver, Wilmington, Ohio.
Funeral services were held in New York, and were followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood”.
