Death of Mrs. Stone
This morning at 5 a.m. Mrs. W.M. Stone, mother of W.A. Stone of this city, passed to the great beyond in the 76th year of her age. Mrs. Stone was the wife of the late ex-Governor W.M. Stone of Iowa, and has passed a busy, useful life. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and her home was Coshocton, Ohio, she coming here less than a year ago. Her husband W.M. Stone served in the civil war as captain and was promoted to Brigadier General. Mrs. Stone was loyal to her husband in the cause for which he fought, she accompanying him in many a journey. As a token of esteem she was furnished a military suit which she wore when she accompanied her husband. The funeral services will be held at the home of her son, W.A. Stone at 11 o'clock tomorrow morning, the remains being then shipped to Knoxville, Ia. The Rev. Mr. Springer will officiate.
