AUDUBON - Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the United Methodist Church at Ross for Dolliver Dawson, 84, of Audubon, who died last Thursday in the Veterans Administration hospital at Omaha. The Rev. Beryl Hokel officiated, and burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon under direction Of McFadden Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Timothy Dawson, David Duvall, Myron Seastrom, Roger Stone, Gary Stone, and Dale Stone. Honorary pallbearers were Michael Seastrom, Lyle Stone and Verlon Stone. Military honors at graveside were provided by Audubon Post 120 of the Ammerican Legion of which Mr. Dawson was a member. Dolliver Edwin Dawson, the son of John and Zella Harris Dawson, was born in Audubon County near Exira on Oct. 30, 1892. He became a member of the Mt. Zion United Brethern Church near Viola as a teenager. In 1955 he joined the Christ United Methodist Church in Des Moines, and since 1971 has been a member of the Ross United Methodist Church. Mr. Dawson served with the Army in Europe during World War I. His marriage to Pearl Ruhs took place in Atlantic on July 22, 1919, and they farmed in Audubon in 1971. Surviving are his wife, Pearl; three daughters, Mrs Sievert (Melva) Stone of Gray, Mrs. Darrell (Betty) Duvall of Audubon, and Mrs. Marvin (Biroda) Seastrom of Cedar Rapids; one son, John of Troy, Mo.; 14 grand children; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles of Oceanside, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Ray kightlinger of Los Angeles, Calif. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, two sisters, two granchildren, and one great-grandchild.
