Granny was a very special person in my life. She was a very strong person to be so small. My Grandfather died in 1964, Granny never remarried. She spent all her time working and raising 6 children and then raised some of her Grandchildren. After she retired from the Hoisery Mill that she had worked at for all those years she worked from her home making hay ropes. She did this for years until she started losing her eyesight. She was the daughter of George W. and Mary Elizabeth(King) Gaines . Her sisters were Caroline , Sybil, Lena and Georgia Gaines .
Her children were Kathleen, Betty, Jack, Johnny, Faye and Elsie.
She had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.

A very special Thank You to Harold and Wanda Blackwell for sponsering Granny's Memorial page. It is appreciated very much and means a lot to me.
