Alhambra, Ill.--E.L. Gross, well-known in this community and vicinity for many years, died Monday afternoon at 2:15 o'clock at the age of 66 years and 22 days.
Mr. Gross was treasurer of the Mutual Telephone Co. here for the past 20 years, and was connected with the company in other capacities. He was also tax collector of Alhambra township, a position which he had held for the past 13 years until the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace [Keown] Gross, a son, Burns Gross, at home, two daughters, Mrs. Merle Henke of Alhambra, and Mrs. Joyce Erb of Edwardsville. Also surviving are one grandson, Carl Henke, four brothers, August, Joseph, Herman and Frank, all of Alhambra, and one sister, Mrs. Agnes Sehnert of Edwardsville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Salem Church at 2 p.m. Rev. Robert Kofer will officiate. Burial will be at the Salem Cemetery.
The body will be at the Dauderman Funeral Home until 4 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
