Crimean War Victoria Cross Recipient. Born in Derry, County Londonderry, Ireland, he served as a Sergeant in the Middlesex Regiment, British Army. At the Battles of Alma and Inkerman, Crimea, Sergeant Park was called forth by his commander at both attacks on the Redan on April 19, 1855. Sergeant Park showed great resolution in the taking of the Russian rifle pits and was severely wounded. For conspicuous bravery, he was awarded the Victoria Cross.
