She was born January 22, 1904, in Amity, a daughter of Sherman and Margaret Reeves Dunn.
Mrs. Swihart was a former schoolteacher in Washington County and a graduate of California State Teachers College.
Surviving are three daughters, Loverna Gilbert of Elizabeth Township, Phyllis Squires of Waynesburg and Sierra Lanham of Morgantown, W.Va.; two sons, Richard R. and John F. Swihart, both of Boston; one brother, George S. Dunn of Nineveh; and one sister, Lucille Frazee of Washington. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Joseph C. Swihart, is deceased. Her son, Joseph C. "Sonny" Swihart, is also deceased.
