Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Stein of Gunter's Valley died at 2 o'clock Thursday [20 July] afternoon after a long illness with paralysis. She was 53 years old. Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Church in White Church Friday afternoon, interment being made in the cemetery there.
Mrs. Stein was the wife of Henry Stein, a prominent member of the Catholic Settlement on the Valley. Her mother Mrs. Thomas Gilliam of White Church, survives her, as do nine children.

Sarah Elizabeth Stein was born in Coffey County, Tennessee, March 11, 1863, and died July 20, 1916, age 53 years, 4 months and 9 days. She was the daughter of T.L. and Caroline Gilliam. She was united in marriage to Henry B. Stein in this county April 22, 1886, and to this union ten children were born, six boys and four girls. Her death was from paralysis from which she had been suffering for some time.
The funeral services were held at St. Joseph's Catholic church at White Church Friday afternoon in the presence of many sorrowing friends and relatives. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery at White Church.
In this sorrow the relatives have the sympathies of many friends.
