ERNEST LEE MANESS,
Age 85, of Madison Heights, died August 25, 2013 at his home. He was born April 22, 1928 in Chester County, Tenn. to Robert Lomax and Cora Aline Maness. Mr. Maness was a longtime member of the Royal Oak Church of Christ and retired from the U.S.D.A. as a produce inspector. He served in the U.S. Army and leaves a legacy of service to others and to his church. Surviving are his children, Phillip (Yolanda) Maness of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Lisa (Ronald) Hayostek of Royal Oak and Martin Maness of Key West, Fla.; granddaughter, Claire Hayostek; siblings, Claud Anderson (Doris) Maness of Henderson, Tenn., Joy Maxine (Jack) Whitaker of Monteagle, Tenn. and Joyce Willadean Thrasher of Germantown, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, in 2012 and by his sister, Frankie Sue Young. Visitation Wednesday 2-8 p.m. at the Kinsey-Garrett Funeral Home, 420 S. Lafayette, Royal Oak. Service Thursday 11 a.m. at the Royal Oak Church of Christ, 115 S. Campbell Road. Burial, Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley.
