Madhubala married singer Kishore Kumar, but it was an abusive relationship and her husband was not faithful to her. At age 17, she was diagnosed with a heart problem, but she continued to act. She traveled to London hoping to receive treatment for her heart condition, but doctors stated she was not a candidate for surgery since they did not think she would survive the operation. During her last days, her family had to guard her to make sure Kishore would not harass her. When she died, she was buried with her diary.
