Daniel was an equestrian showman with several major circus' including Barnum & Bailey Circus and Ringling Bros. Circus. He was also the manager and later the second husband of Madame Mrantette (Emma Peek).
While in Europe with Madame Marantette on tour with Barnum & Bailey he agreed to foster care for the daughter of an old friend. Three months later she joined the act in Vienna Austria. Florence Robinson Harris went on to a very successful circus just like her foster mother.
