Nora Compton, 81, of Mount Gay, Logan County, died March 2, 1998, in Memorial Division, CAMC. She was a homemaker and member of Mount Gay Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving: husband, Earl Compton; daughters, Peggy Booth of Mount Gay, Linda Lockhart of Holden, Iris Ann Tyler of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; son, Roger Dale Compton of Mount Gay; sister, Berta Burns of Michigan; brother, Radford McGuire of Michigan; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Service will be noon Wednesday at James Funeral Home, Logan, with the Rev. Layton Lockhart, the Rev. Jerry Sizemore and the Rev. Earl Fraley officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Godby. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
