U.S. Congressman. He attended the University of Oklahoma and served in the U.S. Army during World War I. After the war, he studied law, was admitted to the bar, practiced law in Enid, Oklahoma and was Garfield County Court Clerk, (1934-38). He was municipal judge of Enid, in 1938, eighth district chairman, Oklahoma State executive secretary of the Republican Party, secretary to Congressman Ross Rizley, in 1941 and a member of Enid Board of Education. In 1951, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-second Congress and to the next ten succeeding Congresses, serving until 1973. After leaving politics, he lived in retirement until his death at age 81. The federal courthouse and Page Belcher Golf Course, both in Tulsa, Okalahoma, are named in his honor.
