HOPKINS, LEWIS. – Age, 25 years. Enlisted, August 25, 1862, at Troy, to serve three years; mustered in as corporal, Co. I, One Hundred and Sixty-ninth N.Y. Vols., October 6, 1862; returned to ranks and promoted corporal, no dates; died, November 6, 1864, at Camp Parole, Annapolis, Md.

Originally buried at Annapolis National Cemetery. The Troy Daily Times, May 26, 1870, and the Troy Daily Whig, May 28, 1870, list a "Lewis Harkins" of the 169th N.Y. as being buried at the Nail Factory Cemetery, Troy, Rensselaer County, N.Y., aka the Sixth Ward Cemetery, or Iron Works Cemetery.
