Last Rites Held for Mrs. Cora Greiner, 74
Funeral services for Mrs. Cora Greiner, 74, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Severson of St. Ansgar, Sunday May 20, were held Wednesday, May 23, at the Meltonville church with the Rev. Elwin C. Labrenz officiating.
Cora May Greiner was born June 8, 1881, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Copeland. She was united in marriage to Pearly Elsmore Greiner March 23, 1898, at Bloomfield, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Greiner were baptized in the Christian faith at the Christian church in Floris, Iowa. To this union were born 17 children. Mrs. Greiner was preceded in death by her husband and three children. Mr. Greiner passed away August 10, 1943. Mr. and Mrs. Greiner were long time residents of Worth county, halving moved to the Meltonville community in 1922, where they had since made their home. Mrs. Greiner attained the age of 74 years, 11 months and 13 days.
Survivors include six sons: Louis of Oklahoma City; William of St. Ansgar; Joe of Port Orchard, Washington; Robert of Lyle; Verlin of Medford, Oklahoma; James of Meltonville; also eight daughters: Inez of Badger, Wisconsin; Mabel of St. Ansgar; Ruth of St Ansgar; Hazel of Hixton, Wisconsin; Mae of Plymouth; Fae of Carpenter; Dorothy of Gays Mills, Wisconsin, and Louise of St. Ansgar; also one half-sister, Mrs. Olive Prather, 36 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Burial was in Woodbury cemetery with Rev. Labrenz in charge of the committal services.
