The son of John and Jane Webb. Married to Pearl ?.
He was the flagman for "Casey Jones" when his train wrecked near Canton, Mississippi on 30 April 1900. Sim continued to work for the Illinois Central RR as a fireman.

Fireman who jumped From Cab at Casey's Orders Dies at 83

Memphis, July 14 (UP) Simeon Webb, 83, who kept up the steam for Casey Jones on the legendary final ride of the "Cannon Ball Express," died Saturday night at Memphis hospital.
It was more than 57 years ago that Casey ordered Webb to "jump for your life," just before the Illnois Central's passenger train slammed into a stalled freight near Vaughn, Miss.
Webb jumped as ordered and survived Casey stayed with his locomotive and was killed but he slowed the train enough to save all his passengers.
