MSGT GEORGE LEAVENS U.S. Air Force, Retired

George Albert Leavens, 80, of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 2, 2013. He was born March 14, 1933, in Colfax, Wis., to the late George and Ethel Leavens. He was the traffic division supervisor for 26 years at the City of Las Vegas and a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He "proudly served" in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. George is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Bobbie Leavens; children, Colleen (Terry) Knapp, Tracie (Bob) Joyce and George Brian Leavens; grandchildren, Kyle Knapp, David Knapp, Travis Joyce, Tyler Joyce, George Adam Leavens and Erica Leavens; sister, Grace Hansen; brother, Raymond Leavens. Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, with funeral service following, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow at the Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
