Funeral service for Lola May Dafoe Wood, 85, of Canton, will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the O'Leary Funeral Home, 5821 US Hwy 11; Canton, with Rev. Rob Schirmer, of Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in the Crary Mills Cemetery. Lola died on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at her home.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the St. Lawrence Valley; 6805 US Hwy 11; Potsdam, New York 13676.

Lola is survived by her daughters, Donna Collins and husband Richard of Canton, Coleen Dennis of Canton, Venetia Wood and companion Brian Miller of Canton and Venessa Dalton and husband Michael of Norfolk, VA; by a son, Robert G. Wood Jr. and wife Darlene of Winthrop; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Roger Dafoe and wife Debbie of Canton and Richard Dafoe and wife Tina of Russell.

Lola was predeceased by her husband Robert G. Wood; a son, Gary; a grandson, Adam Crump; by great-grandsons, Cooper and Tucker Daniels; by sisters, Lorena Lewis and Esterella Ashley; by brothers, Calvin, Myron and Wesley Dafoe; and by a son-in-law, Charles (Bill) Dennis.

Lola was born, June 24, 1928 in Canton, the daughter of the late, Wesley and Ada (Dumas) Dafoe. She attended the one room schoolhouse on Miner Street Road. She married Robert G. Wood on November 4, 1947 at the Canton Methodist Parsonage with Rev. Walter Dobbie, officiating. Lola was a member of the Pyrites Fire Department Auxiliary in her early years.

Lola enjoyed going to the casino and playing cards with her family members. She had an art for crocheting and shared many pieces with her children and grandchildren.
