Chesapeake, VA - Roma Hilda McKinney Williams, 80 of the 700 block of Gainsborough Court, Chesapeake, VA, a retired saleswoman, died Nov. 12 1989, in a hospital.
Mrs Williams, a native of Hyde Co., NC had retired from Ames & Brownley Dept. store. She was a member of South Norfolk Church of Christ. Mrs Williams was past president and current historian of Cambridge Square Senior Citizens Club; Great Bridge Senior Citizens Club; and former member of Indian River Senior Citizens Club. She was a former member of Rebekah's South Norfolk Chapter. She was a widow of Henry C. Williams.
Survivors include four daughters, Hilda Stewart of Chesapeake, VA, Claudette Anderson and Bernice Davis both Of Virginia Beach, VA; and Edna DeWald of Victoria, VA; a brother Romulus McKinney of Virginia Beach, VA; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday in South Norfolk Church of Christ, Chesapeake, VA, by the Rev. John Keane and the Rev. Ted Clifton. Burial was in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA. Friends joined the family at Francis A Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, VA.
