Samuel Mason, son of Zion and Mary Ann Quinton Mason, married Martha Jane Manning on 30 March 1876 in Huntsville (Madison County), Alabama. Samuel and Martha Jane had ten children: William Thomas, James Richard, Luther Samuel, Thomas T., John Robert, Nora May, Margaret (Maggie), Infant Son, William Oscar, and Myrtle Irene.

FUNERALS THIS AFTERNOON
The funerals of the late Sam Mason, John Harris and Mrs. Etta Guthrie occurred this afternoon at 2 and 3 o'clock respectively at their homes on Race, Grove and Arnett streets in Patton Grove. Interments were made in Maple Hill cemetery. Mr. Mason it will be remembered, died in Tuscaloosa after a long illness. Mr. Harris succumbed to Bright's disease and Mrs. Guthrie had been ill for six weeks with fever.

We extend kindest condolence to all of the bereaved ones.

MR. SAM MASON IS DEAD; BROTHER OF TOM MASON, SR.

A telegram received in the city this morning by relatives announced the death of Sam Mason in Tuscaloosa, where he had been taken some time ago for treatment.

Mr Mason was a good man and the news of his death will be read with regret. He was the only brother of Tom Mason, Sr., the well known taxicab man. The deceased is survived by a widow and several children, among them being J. R. Mason, the young furniture dealer, J. Thomas Mason and John Mason.

The funeral will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at Mr. Mason's late home on Race st., in Patton Grove, conducted by Rev. H. E Rice
