Funeral Services This Afternoon For Mrs. Malcolm Hay
Mrs. Malcolm Hay, 53, the former Mary Otis Mather, died at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sunday, November 13 following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hay, a native of Hodgenville, was the daughter of the late Otis M. and Mary Walters Mather. She was a graduate of Transylvania College. Before her marriage she taught at Gulf Park College, Gulfport, Mississippi, and in the Fort Knox Independent Schools.
In 1945 she moved to Pittsburgh, where she was active in many church and civic affairs. She was president of the Episcopal Church Womens at Fox Chapel Episcopal Church and served in the Women's boards of Pittsburgh Children's Hospital, St. Margaret Memorial Hospital and the Episcopal Church home.
Mrs. Hay is survived by her husband, an attorney and former Adjutant General of Pennsylvania who is currently serving as Treasurer of Allegheny County. Also surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Gwen Mather Mann, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mrs. Jean Thurman McCubbin of Hodgenville.
Her body was at Samnirt Funeral Home, Pittsburg. Funeral services were held there in Trinity Cathedral Wednesday, after which the remains will be brought to Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home, Hodgenville. Services will be held at Hodgenville Christian Church Thursday with interment in Red Hill Cemetery.
