George was the son of Peter Bradley and Anna Elizabeth Rugh.
He married on November 22, 1884, to Anna Margaret Craig.

Following a brief illness, George F. Bradley, retired engineer of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad, passed away last night at St. Francis Hospital where he had been taken a few hours before for treatment of an ailment from which he had been suffering for some time.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna Bradley, his son, Paul F. Bradley of San Rafael, his brother, Patrick T. Bradley of Tiburon, his brother, Frank Bradley and sister, Katherine Murphy of Nebraska.
Bradley, who was a native of Pennsylvania, aged 70 years, was a member of San Rafael Lodge, No. 704 Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9 a.m. at St. Raphael's Church. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Bradley's son, the late George F. Bradley Jr., an engineer on the Northwestern Pacific, was killed in the collision of the freight and passenger trains at Largo 2 years ago. The other son, Paul F. Bradley, the conductor on one of the ill fated trains, made heroic efforts to save his brother after the wreck, but they were unavailing.
